Even though these metal screws and Shutter-Lok (spikes) are color matched for our Mid-America vinyl shutters, there is no reason that they can't be used on other brands of exterior vinyl shutters as well. As a matter of fact the Builders Edge brand of shutters found at The Home Depot are also made by Mid America so these replacement fasteners will work just fine and the colors will match. The Shutter-Lok fasteners come in packages of 12 each or 8 each if you are doing small repairs or only re-installing a small number of shutters. However, if you are doing repairs on a big complex, we have bulk options for our vinyl shutter hardware. Quantities of 1000 pieces per box are available for both the Shutter-Loks and the metal screws, which are used for installation of vinyl shutters.

Other shutter accessories that will be useful for installing vinyl shutters in certain situations are plastic ferrules. Ferrules are used when the surface you are mounting the shutters on is not flat, such as rock or uneven brick. The installer will cut the ferrule to the proper size (lenght) so that it can be put behind the shutter at each screw of Shutter-Lok fastener. The screw will go through the shutter and ferrule and the ferrule will hold the shutter off the wall at the proper distance for your particular install. This will allow you to install the shutters on a flat plane which is what the decorative shutters need.

We also have "Shutter Clips" for our standard vinyl master shutters. These shutter clips can be used to install standard-size vinyl shutters without drilling holes through them. This method can be used when you want a clean looking install without any screws or Shutter-Loks showing on the front of the shutter. With this method you will not see any mounting fasteners on the front of the shutters.

In addition to plastic and vinyl shutter hardware, other shutter accessories available include cast iron faux hinges and cast iron scroll holdbacks with a matte black finish. These can add dimension and the look of function to your shutters.
